A Brief History

On September 20, 1956 the Bible Baptist Church was organized and met in the American Legion building on Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC with 20 charter members. The church soon purchased property on Rose Lane in October of 1956 at which time the church changed its name to Poole Road Baptist Church. In November of 1959 property was purchased on Peartree Lane, but was later sold, and in 1964 property on Sunnybrook Road was purchased and a building completed in 1965. During this time the church went through another name change to Grace Baptist Church. Then, in 1998 the church sold the Sunnybrook Road facility, and moved to its present location, 3305 Old Milburnie Rd, Raleigh, NC.

There have been 5 pastors to serve the church throughout its history beginning with its founding pastor, H.W. Carey, then A.R. Hite, Walter Webster, Gary Nave, and the present pastor, Matt Kimak.
